Rootstech 2026

Rootstech 2026 is in less than 1 week. Rootstech is one of my favorite times of year. It is the conference that first revealed to me the professional world of genealogy, now over 5 years ago, and began my passion for working to the highest standards. It has a massive amount of classes, attendees, and events.

This year's Rootstech will be held March 5th- March 7th. Much like previous years, this year's conference will be held in a hybrid format. Thousands will congregate at the Salt Palace in Salt Lake City but millions more will join the conference online on the Rootstech website.

Here are some of the amazing facts about this years Rootstech:

  • There will be over 500 sessions offered in 14 different languages.

  • 351 Speakers will be presenting (a mix online and in person).

  • There will be 18-20 sessions per block for in person attendees to choose from and 9-10 sessions per block for online attendees to choose from.

Rootstech has also brought back some of its old favorites. This includes Relatives at Rootstech. This is a feature that allows you to see who you are related to, once you have registered for the conference, and who is also registered for the conference. At the time of writing this post, I have 10,942 relatives showing up!

Another favorite is the keynote sessions with fabulous speakers. Marlee Martlin, Tara Roberts, and Steve Young are the in person keynotes this year. Marlee is an academy award winning actress and director, along with being an activist for the deaf community, as she has been deaf herself since 18 months of age. Tara is a National Geographic explorer, author, and historian. She is especially active in the underwater archaeological community. Steve is an NFL Hall of Famer and SuperBowl MVP. He is also a philanthropist and author. All three are amazing individuals and should provide fantastic addresses.

This Rootstech is something to look forward to with so many classes to choose from and speakers to hear! There will also be an expo hall and other amazing events. I will be speaking on Thursday and Saturday mornings so come and catch my presentations as well!

Hope to see you at Rootstech!
